(INSIGHTS)
01 Where it originates

The soil in the Montepulciano area, formed over different geological eras, boasts exceptional diversity: light in the lower areas and richer in the higher ones, with a reduced active layer that enhances the grapes. The Valiano area in Montepulciano, where the Lunadoro vineyards are located, is characterized by moderate altitudes (332 m above sea level), clayey soils, and is favored by wind exposure, ensuring a gradual and complete ripening of the clusters. The ideal place to create wines with great balance and strong organoleptic intensity.

02 Vineyards

Lunadoro owns 12 hectares of vineyards, of which 10 hectares are cultivated with Sangiovese and 2 hectares divided between Merlot and Cabernet. The vines are trained with the spurred cordon system, achieved through short pruning (2 buds) of a variable number of spurs per vine (approximately 4-5). Each hectare hosts 5000 plants, with a yield of 75 quintals of grapes.
